Southwest Missouri State University has five new degree options for students in the industrial management program.
The SMS University Board of Governors approved the new degree options of industrial distribution, food processing, computer aided drafting, quality control and production in February.
Shawn Strong is the head of the industrial management department.
He says a lot of planning went in to deciding the new degree options.
Strong says construction and manufacturing were the only two degree options before the addition.
He says graduates from the industrial management program are among the most highly paid from SMS.
Shawn Strong says the new degree programs will expand on the existing program.
Strong says he plans to add the new programs without requiring new resources to fund them.
He says the new degree programs will happen through partnerships with other departments.
Shawn Strong says the new degree programs will take affect in the fall semester of 2005.
