New Police Chief Wants to Chat With Public Over Coffee

Police Car

The new Springfield Police Chief, Paul Williams, wants to have coffee with the very people he’s been hired to protect. KSMU’s Jennifer Moore has details.

Williams is inviting Springfield residents to attend four informal coffeshop gatherings on Wednesday mornings in September and October. According to the city, Williams will talk to the public at locally owned coffee shops in each of the four City Council zones.

There are no set agendas nor predetermined topics. The schedule is as follows:

Sept. 1 - Big Momma's, on E. Commercial St. (Zone 1)

Sept. 15 - Anton's, on S. Glenstone Ave. (Zone 2)

Sept. 29 - Gailey's, downtown on W. Walnut St. (Zone 3)

Oct. 6 - Dancing Mule Coffee Co., on S. Glenstone Ave. (Zone 4)

For more information, you can call 864-1782. And…you might need the coffee, because the sessions begin at 7:00 a.m.

For KSMU News, I’m Jennifer Moore.
