Afternoon lunch breaks can be filled with traffic jams and long lines. But for those who remember to bring their sack lunch each Wednesday, this summer you can enjoy a nice outdoor performance.KSMU’s Erika Brame spoke with the Urban Districts Alliance about free entertainment known as ‘Wednesday Noon.
From 12:15 till 12:45 in the noon hour on Wednesdays you can sit out in the warm sun and watch a free, local performance at Founders Park.
Sarah Trammell is the community event coordinator for the Urban Districts Alliance.
She says you can see lots of local groups perform at the park each week.
“The Springfield Little Theater has come, the ballet, we have Little Hoover Big Band coming up next week. Super Charge which is a pre-teen rock band that’s really popular, just kind of a variety of shows and we encourage people to bring a sack lunch. Come and enjoy the nice spring weather and a performance in Founders Park.”
She encourages everyone to come out and enjoy the free entertainment.
