The Ozark Empire Fair announced their 2007 attendance numbers on Thursday. The fair reports an attendance of almost 218,000 visitors which is an increase of nearly 10,000 over last year's total. KSMU's Joe Morgan has more.
General Manager of the Ozark Empire Fair Pat Lloyd calls the 2007 fair a success with attendance up nearly 10,000 visitors. He says that is a directed correlation to improvements made over last year and the fair board putting together a great product.
Lloyd says that a 90 person committee was formed after last year's fair to assess needed improvements for this year's fair. It was called the Fair for the Future project and Lloyd explains what was changed.
Lloyd says that some attendance was lost this year due to rain but he says the fair had a strong finish the last week.
Lloyd says that planning has already started for next year and the fair board will determine what else needs improvements. He says that the goal is to keep making the fair better every year.
Lloyd welcomes all who attended to fill out the Fair Experience Survey. There's a link to the survey along with this story at ksmu.org. For KSMU News, I'm Joe Morgan.
