An exhibit celebrating the native Ozarks heritage craft of basket-making is on display through October 26 at the Ralph Foster Museum at College of the Ozarks. Highlighted in the exhibit are baskets and related items from the private collection of Donnie and Joyce Ellison, who have themselves been making white oak basketry in the Ozarks tradition for over 30 years--Donnie is one of Silver Dollar City's master craftsmen. The Ellisons are also enthusiastic collectors of baskets created by other Ozark basket makers. The Ralph Foster Museum is open Monday-Saturday 9am-4:30pm, and there is an admission charge. For more information call the museum at (417) 690-3407.
