Small businesses in downtown Springfield face challenges in the current economic climate. But there’s help for these business owners from the Urban Districts Alliance. KSMU’s Missy Shelton reports.
The Urban Districts Alliance is offering a series of educational courses to help small businesses survive these tough economic times. The sessions began in January and the last one is scheduled for next Monday night. It will be a small business panel discussion at 6PM on the Ozarks Technical Community College campus.Donnie Rodgers is the community development coordinator with the Urban Districts Alliance, which provides support to business districts in downtown Springfield and on Commercial Street.He says the panel discussion next Monday will feature counselors from SCORE, an association dedicated to promoting small businesses.
There will also be representatives from the Small Business Administration at the panel discussion to talk about loans that are available to small businesses.Registration is required though there’s no cost to attend the panel discussion.
