Wisconsin Congressman Paul Ryan, the running mate for presumed Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, is scheduled to be in Springfield next week. KSMU’s Jennifer Davidson has details.
Ryan is booked to speak at a private fundraiser next Thursday, August 23, at the Ramada Oasis Hotel and Convention Center in Springfield—that’s according to Danette Proctor, chair of the Greene County Republican Party.
Proctor said Ryan will first hold a private VIP reception, then a photo opportunity for select donors, then he will speak at a general reception.
Tickets for that general reception begin at 1,000 per person—tickets for the VIP meetings top out at $25,000, Proctor said. She was unable to confirm how many tickets have been sold so far.
KSMU tried contacting the Romney campaign for comment on why it chose to visit Springfield, but was unable to connect with the campaign by deadline.
