Public high school students are preparing to take the Missouri Assessment Program Test next week. KSMU's Jana Greer Reports.
The MAP test is a standardized test designed to evaluate how well students are learning.
Vicki Neal is the Principal at Republic High School. She says students prepare for the test all year long because they are tested on what they have learned in class.
The MAP is a written exam that tests students in English, Social Studies, Math and Science. Chance Winstrom is the Principal at Parkview High School. He says he believes parents need to support their students by stressing the importance of the MAP test.
Jolean Welsch works in the Counseling Department at Willard High School. She says the results will help schools know how well they are teaching students.
Districts will receive MAP test results next school year. Elementary and Middle school students will take the map test later this month.
