The Board of Public Utilities will hold a public hearing tomorrow (9/27) regarding the properties that are recommended for purchase for the new station.
The proposed site, located near College and Main, consists of properties currently owned by five separate entities.
The CU Board’s Plans and Policy Committee has met in closed session and will recommend proceeding with negotiations to purchase the properties. Negotiations will not begin until City Utilities receives authorization to proceed from the Federal Transit Administration.
The public hearing will start tomorrow afternoon at 3 in the C. Frank Knox Board Room, 301 E. Central.
The total cost of the bus transfer station project is approximately $3.9 million. FTA funding will make up 80% of the cost or about $3.1 million and local funding will make up 20% or about $776,000.
