Red Cross Receives Trailer for Disaster Relief

The Greater Ozarks Chapter of the American Red Cross opened up a rather large present today. KSMU's Jennifer Moore reports.

The organization received a modified trailer specifically designed for disaster relief. It was a donation from The Industrial Company, an industrial contractor based in Steamboat Springs, Colorado.

Red Cross Spokesperson Joann Moore was at this morning's ribbon cutting ceremony, and says the trailer will be used to respond to emergencies and other events in the field.

Moore says the new trailer will help by shortening the reaction time between when disaster strikes and when the Red Cross is able to set up a service center on the ground.

The trailer will be used on the road to interview clients about their needs and to conduct sessions to discuss receiving financial assistance.
