State Auditor Susan Montee will release an audit of the City of Springfield on December 6th.
Montee performed the audit in response to a citizens' petition.
Samantha Brewer is public affairs coordinator for the state auditor's office.
She explains how a group of citizens went about initiating the audit.
The audit of Springfield will be available at 7PM December 6th in Council Chambers on the third floor of the historic city hall building.
Brewer says the public will have a chance to review the auditors' findings and hear from state auditor Susan Montee.
The auditor's office began working on the Springfield audit in September, 2006.
The state auditor performs between 13 and 15 audits in response to citizen petitions each year.
