"The Rhythm is Keeping Us Alive" at the Library Center Feb.22

A celebration of African American poetry featuring local poets, musicians and performers will mark the finale of the 21st National African American Read-In Chain in Springfield. “The Rhythm is Keeping Us Alive,” a commemoration of African American heritage, will be from 7:30 to 9 p.m., Monday, Feb. 22, at the Library Center, 4653 South Campbell, in Springfield. Jon Herbert, theater arts instructor at Ozarks Technical Community College, will direct. It's free and open to the public. Free parking will be available.
