Rotary Club and Other Donors Dedicate Baseball Field for Kids With Physical Disabilities

The Springfield North Rotary Club and Springfield-Greene County Park Board have partnered to build a baseball field for children with physical disabilities.  KSMU’s Matthew Barnes reports.

More than $300,000 dollars has been raised for the creation of the Rotary Club’s “Miracle League Field”.   According to release from the Rotary Club many organizations that work with children who have physical disabilities anticipate the location will be put to good use.

The field will be equipped with a special playing surface that’s easy to navigate for those in wheelchairs or those who have difficulty walking.

The dedication will be at 10 am, Friday at the Dan Kinney Park.  Special guest will include Softball Gold Medalist, Michele Smith, and Springfield City Councilman Scott Bailes.  For KSMU News, I’m Matthew Barnes.
