Although the seedlings are just peeking up through the soil, The Salvation Army is already taking orders for its annual "Geranium Sale." KSMU’s Jennifer Moore reports.
The charity sells the flowers each year to raise money for a variety of projects.
Shirley McDonald, spokesperson for the Salvation Army, says the flowers come in a 4 -inch pot, and the blooms can be ordered in red, salmon or white.
"The proceeds benefit the Salvation Army's youth programs--the after school recreational activities, and our summer day camp programs. And then also, they purchase clothing for the children who live in our family enrichment center," McDonald said.
The geraniums cost $2.75 each. McDonald said the geraniums will be ready for pickup May 5th. For more information, you can call 862-5509.
