This Saturday is a Volunteer Work Day for Ozark Greenways

The third Saturday of every month is volunteer work day for Ozark Greenways. This Saturday December 15 from 9am to noon volunteers can join Ozark Greenways at the Kearney Street Trailhead. KSMU's Joe Morgan has more.

Ozark Greenways is inviting the public to help clean up part of the Frisco Highline Trail this Saturday. Executive Director of Ozark Greenways Terry Whaley explains what will be happening on Saturday.

Whaley invites volunteers to bring certain trimming and pruning tools to the event.

He says that volunteers of any age are welcome to attend and there will be enough work for everyone who wants to volunteer.

Whaley says public volunteer events are important in spreading knowledge and appreciation for Ozark Greenways projects.

The Kearney Street Trailhead is the southern-most trailhead with access to the 35-mile long trail that connects Springfield to Bolivar. The trail is also a National Recreation Trail as designated by the National Park Service. There will be a link to more information about Ozark Greenways and directions to the volunteer work days along with this story on ksmu.org. For KSMU News, I'm Joe Morgan.
