Area schools are working to help victims of the tornado that devastated a large section of Joplin Sunday.At least 13 Springfield elementary schools are collecting money and supplies. Five middle schools are holding collections and fundraisers...so are five high schools.Some examples: Central High School has set a goal of raising $3,000 thru its “Dogs disaster relief for Eagles” fundraiser, which will benefit Joplin High School.Glendale High School is organizing relief efforts and planning to solicit donations of blankets and water.Pipkin Middle School’s student council is collecting monetary donations. Students, their families and community members can drop off donations at the school office.Sunshine Elementary students will participate in Jammies for Joplin Day today. Staff and students will donate at least a dollar to wear pajamas to school. All money collected will be donated to the American Red Cross in Joplin.
