Between now and the end of the month, Greene County sheriff's deputies will conduct a sobriety checkpoint in an unincorporated area of the county.

The Greene County Sheriff's Department does not release the day, time or specific location of the checkpoint.

Jim Arnott is Chief Deputy in Greene County.

Arnott says drivers who encounter a checkpoint need to be patient.

He says it's difficult to predict how long it will take to get through the checkpoint.

If there are issues, Arnott says you may have to get out of your car.

The Greene County Sheriff's Department received a grant that allows it to do checkpoints.

Arnott says the department typically does three each year...The one this month will be the second checkpoint this year for the Greene County Sheriff's Department.
