Southwest Airlines will soon be “landing” in the Branson Airport. The airline has announced it will fly from Branson with daily nonstop flights to Dallas, Chicago Midway, and Houston Hobby airports, and offer weekly Saturday flights to Orlando. KSMU’s Rebekah Clark has more.
Branson is Southwest's 79thdestination on its airline route map, according to a press release from the carrier. Service starts in Branson on March 9, 2013.
All AirTran Airways operations will fully convert to Southwest.
With the direct flights to Dallas, Chicago, Houston and Orlando, the airline will also offer connecting flights between Branson and 67 other cities.
To celebrate the new service, Southwest is offering an airfare sale of $79 one-way tickets to several of those locations. That sale ends September 6, and is restricted to certain dates.
