The Springfield Police Department says it arrested four people at DWI checkpoints on Super Bowl Sunday. KSMU’s Theresa Bettmann has details.
The SPD gave the public a heads-up that it would have checkpoints on Superbowl Sunday, but it didn't say where they would be. Four people were arrested at the checkpoints, according to a release from the City of Springfield. It's part of the SPD's proactive DWI enforcement, the release said. One arrest also included a misdemeanor charge for possession of marijuana. The release says the police department is compiling the number of total stops and summons, and will release those later this week.
