Springfield Regional Opera is celebrating 30 years with the second of their four productions this season, "Jazzaria," Friday Feb.5th at 6:30pm at the Executive Conference Center Ballroom, 910 W. Battlefield. You're invited to break the Mardi Gras beads and other attire for this show, created by bandleader (and the Opera's Board President) Les Brown aboard a cruise ship, and performed for landlubbers for the first time. Enjoy timeless opera arias as you've never heard them before, in a production that combines opera with jazz. "Jazzaria" features jazz vocalist Christin Bohrisch, along with local performers including Jeff Carney, Leah Jenkins, and SRO Young Artist Anna Leigh Jantz. The accompaniment includes a 5-piece jazz combo featuring members of Les Brown's Band of Renown. Also included: an hors d'oeuvres style dinner from Simply Delicious Catering, cash bar, silent auction, and a raffle. Tickets are $35 and proceeds benefit Springfield Regional Opera. Call 863-1960 or 883-5580 for information and tickets. Seating is limited. SRO Season Tickets are also available.
