The City of Springfield, like other municipalities, contracts with private companies to build, improve, and develop the city. But sometimes it’s hard for those contractors to know all of the rules and regulations the city is bound to uphold. A new website aims to solve that. KSMU’s Jennifer Davidson has more.
What do you do if you’re a contractor working on the sewer, and you come across water or gas lines? And what scale do you draw your plans to when submitting a bid?
This new website addresses those questions, and many more: City of Springfield Public Works just launched the site, and it’s in the user-friendly style of Wikipedia. According to a release from the city, the website will also make frequent updates to the site as rules and regulations change.
The website also includes a new rating system: that’s where the City will rate contractors based on the quality of work they did, how long it took, and how close to budget they stayed.
