The Springfield Symphony closes the 2008-2009 season with the all-female Celtic music group known as "Cherish the Ladies." Led by world-champion Irish flutist Joanie Madden, Cherish the Ladies is the most sought-after Irish-American group in Celtic music today. With virtuosic instrumental talents, great vocals and stunning step dancing, they bring together all the facets of traditional Irish culture in an entertaining and amusing package. Springfield Symphony Music Director Ron Spigelman has worked with Cherish the Ladies three times before and was determined to bring them to Springfield.
