Springfield Symphony & Big Smith perform during Messiah Project's "Heritage of Hymns" Concert

Sunday September 27 at 6:00 pm Messiah Project will present their second annual “Heritage of Hymns Concert,” featuring the Springfield Symphony Orchestra, a community mass choir & Big Smith at Second Baptist Church, 3111 E. Battlefield Rd. The evening service will feature traditional hymns sung by the choir and audience together, as well as orchestral pieces and other special music selections. Ron Spigelman, Music Director of the Springfield Symphony, will conduct this inspirational gathering. Sharon Wilkins, Evangel University professor and area choral conductor, will once again prepare the mass choir for the celebration. Local favorites “Big Smith” will feature some of their renditions of favorite gospel tunes complete with the Springfield Symphony and mass choir on some numbers. Sing His Praises Home School Choir under the direction of Krista Smith will also be performing. More than 30 churches are involved in the choir alone.
