Administrators for Springfield Public Schools have begun moving into their new location. KSMU’s Justin Lux has the story.
Two years ago, with the cost of repairs mounting at the old Kraft Administrative Center, the Springfield Public School System began looking for a new location for its administration building.
After finishing the renovation of the old KSPR television station building, the move-in has finally begun.
The Kraft building is located immediately adjacent to Central High School. One major benefit of this move will be to provide space for the high school.
Theresa Bledose, who is a spokesperson for the public schools, says there are other advantages to this move.
“We will continue to maintain a presence in central Springfield. So it should be easily accessible to the entire community as far as attending school board meetings or parents who need to have meetings with school district personnel,” says Bledsoe.
Bledsoe also reports that while the building is an upgrade from the previous location, there still is not enough room to house all administrators.
