State Treasurer Sarah Steelman was in southwest Missouri yesterday to unroll her ethics platform. KSMU's Megan Keathley reports.
Republican gubernatorial candidate Sarah Steelman spoke to the Springfield Chamber of Commerce Tuesday afternoon about her plans for state-wide ethics reform.
Steelman said she helped write the current Missouri Sunshine Law in 2004. She also said she's proud of creating Missouri's terror-free investment policy, which ensures that money invested in Missouri does not go towards funding terrorism.
Republican gubernatorial rival Kenny Hulshof outlined his own ethics plan two months ago. Hulshof also proposed to ban lobbyist gifts to elected officials. He proposed changes to the composition of the Missouri Ethics Commission and the way license-office contracts are awarded.
