The state of Missouri is holding a series of job fairs seeking young adults to work at different state parks this summer. KSMU’s Xiaowen Tan reports.
Missouri had the State Parks Youths Corps program last summer. The program gives young adults job skills and opportunities, and encourages them to enjoy the outdoors during summer holidays. The state plans to hire several hundred people ages 17 through 21 to work temporarily at the parks. The jobs include working on maintenance, restoration and social media.
There will be a job fair at Roaring River State Park on Tuesday 6 a.m. until noon. The information session will be held at the park store. Roaring River State Park is located seven miles south of Cassville on Highway 112.
Other sessions are scheduled for Saturday at Meramec State Park and March 12 at Johnson’s Shut-Ins State Park.
Application forms for the program can be found at the state’s website, www.mo.gov. For KSMU news, I’m Xiaowen Tan.
