Springfield Contemporary Theatre at the Vandivort, 305 E. Walnut 4th floor, presents Eric Bogosian's hard-edged, cynical drama "Talk Radio" March 19-April 3, in its Springfield area premiere. It’s April 1987... before the rise of Howard Stern and Rush Limbaugh, there is Barry. Barry Champlain, Cleveland’s outrageous and controversial shock jock, is on the air and doing what he does best: stirring up the lonely souls who call in the middle of the night to sound off. Tomorrow Barry’s radio show is going into national syndication and his producer is afraid that Barry will say something that will offend the sponsors. This, of course, makes Barry even more audacious. This play contains adult language and themes. Rick Dines directs, and the cast includes Bryan Moses, Julie Bloodworth, and Nathan Shelton, appearing under a Special Appearance contract with Actors' Equity Association. Performances are March 19-20 and 25-27 at 7:30pm; Sunday the 28th at 2:00pm; and April 1,2, and 3 at 7:30 at the Vandivort. For tickets call 831-8001 or visit www.vctheatre.com.
