Time Is Running Short to Comment on Transportation Proposals

Time is running out to comment on the five proposed transportation projects from the Ozark Transportation Organization. In May the organization invited the public to give their opinion about the five proposed transportation projects. Thursday is the last day to make comments. Ksmu's Jana Greer reports.

To be eligible for federal funds the Transportation Improvement Program must lay out its projects. The organization has come up with five projects for the next four years. The projects include a new streetscape in central Springfield, interchange improvements to I-44, adjustments to the airport's new terminal access road and improvements to Republic Road in Springfield.

Sara Edwards is the Senior Planner for the Ozarks Transportation Organization. She says it is important for the public to get involved with these projects.

The amendments are available for review at the Busch Municipal Building in Springfield. The amendments will be reviewed and possibly approved at the meeting on Thursday at noon. There will also be an opportunity for public comments at the meeting. The projects are expected to begin in 2009.
