A television tower tumbled to the ground Friday morning in Joplin, after heavy winds and strong storms swept through the Ozarks.
The tower was located next to the studio of KSNF, the local NBC Affiliate station. Jeff Hadley, chief engineer at the station, said everyone in the studio was able to get out before the tower fell.
He said part of it fell near the base of the tower, and part of it fell across the building and its parking lot.
The structure was originally over 1000 feet tall. Now, only 350 feet worth of the tower remains standing.
The tower also fell onto two homes. No one was hurt, but the homes and vehicles were badly damaged.
