United Way of the Ozarks says that as of November 27th they have raised $3,883,522 for this year’s campaign. But, the push for additional funding continues.
This year’s stretch goal of $4 million is a large increase from previous campaign years. As Jennifer Kennally, president of United Way of the Ozarks explains, the need in our region is greater than it was before.
“Because we are so close, we decided we are not ending our campaign today. We will keep moving forward until hopefully, by the end of this year, we will have achieved that big goal of $4 million, which will be a 15 percent increase or over $500,000 we have raised in the past. This will be by far the largest and most successful United Way campaign to date, “said Kennally.
United way is a community-based organization that engages people in the work place and throughout the community to donate. These donations fund 40 programs around the Ozarks area that provide essential needs to the community through health and human service agencies.
United Way will continue taking donations until they reach their $4 million goal.
