Voters Approve Ballot Issues for Springfield Public Schools

A bond issue and operating levy increase for Springfield Public Schools have been approved by voters.  Springfield Proposition Teachers for Kids passed with 56% of voters saying yes, and Proposition Classrooms for Kids was approved with 65% of the vote.

Jan Fisk defeated Arthur Hodge Sr. in the race for General Springfield City Council Seat A.

Gerry Lee and Annie Busch won the race for the Springfield Public Schools Board of Education.

And Craig Fishel is the winner in the race for Springfield City Council Zone 4.

C. Wendell Forshee defeated Bryan Vincent to become Willard’s mayor.

A school issue in Strafford received approval from voters.  The district will borrow $15 million to build a new elementary school and for other school improvements.

Voters in Fair Grove said yes to a tax levy for the Fire Protection District.

And a bond issue for Public Water Supply District No. 1 in Greene County was approved.

Springfield voters said yes to the continuation of the one-quarter of one percent sales tax for capital improvements.

A sales tax issue for the City of Republic Fire Department received approval from voters—as did a bond issue in Rogersville for infrastructure improvements.
