Springfield voters will decide who the two new members of the Springfield Board of Education will be. They’ll also choose new council members for General Council Seats C and D and for Zones 2 and 3.Springfield voters will also decide whether to ban alcohol sales in movie theatres with more than 25% of their ticket sales to those under the age of 21 in the most recent three month period, and they’ll decide if smoking should be prohibited in enclosed public places, places of employment, private clubs, within five feet of outdoor playgrounds and within five feet of outside entrances.There are also ballot issues in the Ash Grove and Walnut Grove School Districts and in the Ebenezer Fire District. And voters will decide who will serve on several school districts in Greene County and who will serve on the board of aldermen for several cities in the county.Strafford voters will choose their next mayor.Greene County Clerk Richard Struckhoff expects between 15 and 20% of registered voters in the county to turn out at the polls…Richard1 :Voters with disabilities that prevent them from reading or marking an optical scan paper ballot will be able to vote an optical scan ballot with assistance at their regular polling place or they can cast their vote on an accessible machine at the Greene County Clerk’s Office in the historic County Courthouse during regular voting hours.Struckhoff offers advice to voters:Richard2 :One polling place has changed: East Clay A, which used to vote at the Battlefield Fire Station on Evans Rd., will vote this election at Riverbluff Fellowship Church on Evans Rd. due to remodeling of the fire station.Two Greene County polling sites will not be open during this election because voters in those areas have no candidates or issues on which to vote. They are: Clay-B (River of Life Church) and Washington Township (Rogersville Middle School).Polls open at 6 this morning and will remain open until 7 tonight.
