  • Celebrate Earth Day today (4/22) at the Springfield-Greene County Botanical Center at Nathanael Greene/Close Memorial Park. The free event “Picnic for the Planet” is from 11 to 2. Pack a lunch or buy lunch at the Botanical Boutique and Marketplace. Make creative critter crafts out of recycled materials. And try out the new solar cell-powered tram from noon until 2.
  • The Missouri State Baseball Bears will host Indiana State tonight (4/22) at 6:30, tomorrow afternoon (4/23) at 2 and Sunday afternoon (4/24) at 1 at Hammons Field. For tickets, 836-7678.
  • Adults are invited to watch the film “The Dark Crystal,” rated PG, tonight (4/22) at 7 at the Park Central Branch Library.
  • There will be Easter activities tomorrow and Sunday (4/23-4/24) at the Springfield-Greene County Botanical Center at Nathanael Greene/Close Memorial Park. Join Peter Rabbit and his friends for an Easter Egg Roll tomorrow morning at 10. Kids will be divided into age groups and given a plastic egg to race and roll with prizes for the winners. From 10 to 5 tomorrow and 1 to 5 Sunday join the Easter bunny for free rides around the park and arboretum on the solar cell-powered tram.
