Weekend Outlook May 11-13, 2012

  • The MSU Baseball Bears will face Evansville tonight (5/11) at 6:30, tomorrow afternoon (5/12) at 2 and Sunday (5/13) at 1 at Hammons Field.  For ticket information, 836-7678.
  • The MSU Beartones will present their spring concert tonight (5/11) at 7 in the Plaster Student Union Theatre.  Admission is $5.
  • Today (5/11) is National Public Gardens day, and, to celebrate, The Springfield Botanical Gardens at Nathanael Greene/Close Memorial Park will hold a special event starting at 9 and continuing throughout the day.  The Mizumoto Japanese Stroll Garden will have free admission from 9 am to 7:30 pm, meet chat and ask questions of Master Gardeners in their demonstration gardens from 9 to 4, take a guided garden solar tram tour from 9 to 4 and visit the Bill Roston Native Butterfly House on its opening day from 10 to 6.  For more information, 891-1511.

  • The 2ndAnnual Big Hair Ball to benefit the SAAFhouse Spay and Neuter Clinic will be held tonight (5/11) at 7 at Historic Firehouse #2, 101 E.
