  • Barnyard Days, a juried arts and crafts festival, will be held today and tomorrow (5/6-5/7) from 8:30 am to 6 pm and Sunday (5/8) from 11 to 4 at Circle R Ranch in Neosho.   • The Eureka Springs May Festival of the Arts is taking place this month in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. The Afrique Aya Drum and Dance Company will bring the 4th Annual Africa in the Ozarks to Basin Spring Park today and tomorrow (5/6-5/7). The Ozakwaaba Afropop and Reggae Band take the stage tonight from 8 to 10. Drum and dance classes start tomorrow morning at 10 and a demonstration performance begins after the Artrageous Parade at about 3. A community drum circle starts at 6.   • ArtsFest on Walnut Street is tomorrow (5/7) from 10 to 6 and Sunday (5/8) from 10 to 5. The event will feature more than 130 artists from across the country. There will an interactive kid’s area and live performances. The first 500 moms through the gate on Sunday will get a free gift. Tickets are $5 at the gate. Kids 5 and under get in free.

  • The Greater Ozarks Audubon Society will visit the Busiek Conservation Area tomorrow (5/7) to look for warblers and other migrants. Anyone is welcome, regardless of bird watching experience.   • The Pomona Christian Church Youth Group will host an Active Water 5K tomorrow (5/7) at Carmichael Field on Missouri Ave. in West Plains. Proceeds will go to Active Water, which provides clean water and sanitation to communities around the globe. Registration starts at 8 am.
  • Bennett Springs State Park will host a Kid’s Fishing Day tomorrow (5/7) from 6:30 am to 8:15 pm. A portion of the fishing area will be reserved for kids 15 and under. Kids can get free trout tags today (5/6) at the Missouri Department of Conservation Hatchery or tomorrow at the event. They’ll also get stringers, fish posters and other fish-related items. Volunteers will be on hand to help kids and some fishing equipment will be available, but children are encouraged to take their own fishing gear.   • Greene County Master Gardeners are offering a series of four gardening classes as part of a program called “Intro to Gardening.” The class “Spring into Gardening” will be held tomorrow morning (5/7) from 9 to 11 at the Springfield-Greene County Botanical Center.
