The fifteenth annual WinterFest Visual and Performing Arts Festival will take place Friday through Sunday December 4–6 at the Juanita K. Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts. WinterFest combines the performing arts with the talents of the region’s best visual artists in a three-day festival. Visual and craft artists are selected by jurors to participate in this top-quality show, held in the spectacular multi-level lobby of Hammons Hall. Festival-goers can enjoy live holiday music by local choirs and instrumental ensembles as they shop on four lobby levels, then attend evening performances in the theatre. Winterfest hours are 5 to 10pm Friday Dec.4; 10am to 10pm Saturday, and noon to 5 on Sunday Dec.6. There are two ticketed performances: Christmas with John Tesh Fri. Dec.4 at 8pm. Tesh left his job as co-host of "Entertainment Tonight" to embark on a full-time music career, which has garnered him Grammy nominations and other top awards. Then on Saturday evening Dec.5 at 8pm, the Hall has moved its traditional winter concert by local favorites Big Smith to WinterFest Weekend for a "Big Smith Christmas." Then Sunday afternoon Dec.6 at 2pm, the Hall hosts the Missouri State University Music Department in their free holiday concert, "Sounds of Christmas."
