Wooley Creek School Bluegrass Festival

The fifth annual Wooley Creek School Bluegrass Festival will be held Oct.9-11 at the school, located 3 miles west of Cape Fair, Missouri off Highway 76. The non-profit Wooley Creek School group raises money to help maintain one of the only remaining one-room schoolhouses in the Ozarks. Hosted by the Missouri Boatride bluegrass band, the festival will feature the Mississippi Sawyers, Crazy Mule, Bluegrass Brigade, Southern Raised, and Missouri Mountain Gang. Free primitive camping will be available starting at 8am Friday Oct.9. There will be food and drink vendors on-site, along with crafts and more. Come meet Dean Webb, an original member of the Dillards and one of the "Darlin' Boys" on the Andy Griffith Show. To get to Wooley Creek School, go three miles west of Cape Fair on Highway 76, turn south on Wooley Creek Road--the road will fork, so stay left for one mile, and the schoolhouse will be on the left.
