    The Springfield Chamber Chorus is a highly-select independent community choir specializing in the performance of a cappella choral literature, both sacred and secular. The Chorus is comprised of post-collegiate singers from the greater Springfield area; all their concerts are free and open to the public.     Messiah Project presents their annual December concert "The Miracle of Christmas" in venues all over Missouri next week. It includes a complete staged performance of Gian-Carlo Menotti's Christmas opera "Amahl and the Night Visitors,' plus "Christmas Around the World" with the Forum Sinfonia Chamber Orchestra of Krakow, Poland.     The G.O.A.T. Tour (Greater Ozarks Arts Tour), administered by the Springfield Regional Arts Council, brings the visual and performing arts to communities throughout the 27-county area served by the Arts Council. Bucky Bowman was the first "shepherd" of the project, and Stephanie Cramer of the Arts Council now oversees it.

    The Nixa High School Choral Program's Holiday Madrigal Concert is scheduled for Monday, December 13, at 7 p.m. in the Nixa High School auditorium. It's an evening of holiday music and medieval humor, with all four Nixa High School choirs involved, and all in costume. The Chamber Choir is "royalty" for the evening and they have invited the "peasants" to the palace for a evening of holiday festivities. The Concert Choir, Mixed Chorus and Women's Choir all join in for a night of singing and merry making. The Madrigal is the premier fundraiser for the Nixa High choral program with general admission seating at $5. Proceeds from the concert are used by the Boosters to enhance the choral program by purchasing things like robe cabinets, robe bags, Madrigal costumes and technology equipment and software.     National Avenue Christian Church will present a Service of Nine Lessons and Carols at 7 p.m. Dec. 12 in the church sanctuary at 1515 S. National. In addition to the church's Chancel Choir and lay readers, guest musicians will include soprano Jane Berg, baritone Larry Julian, pianist Dr. Janice Fulbright, and cellist Jacque Trtan with Stanton Strings. The service will feature music by John Rutter, David Willcocks, and Gustav Holst. The "lessons and carols" service has its roots in Britain more than 100 years ago. It's free and open to the public.     The Republic Community Band plays a Christmas concert on Saturday, December 11 at 2:00 pm at Hood Methodist Church, 139 North Walnut in Republic. The band is comprised of musicians from many towns in southwest Missouri. The concert is free and open to the public.

    After missing the entire 2009 season while out promoting his book “It Shined; the Saga of the Ozark Mt. Daredevils (and after playing at Harlow's here in Springfield Friday night Dec.10), Michael "Supe" Granda returns to the Rock House in Reeds Spring, MO with a special holiday performance of “Supe’s On”. The evening, consisting of songs, stories, friends, mayhem and a healthy dose of merriment, is his current project when he isn’t holding down his bass duties with the Daredevils. For this show he plays guitar. The date is Saturday Dec.11th at 7:00pm at the Rock House, 41 High Street in downtown Reeds Spring.
