CoxHealth Auxiliary’s "Arts for Autism" art-auction event will feature more than 40 pieces of art – many donated by area artists – to raise money for the Burrell Autism Center. It's scheduled for 6:00pm Thursday June 11 at Riverside Inn in Ozark. Donated works include oil paintings, watercolors, mosaics, pottery, wood carvings, photography and more. Tickets for the live art auction, silent auction and cocktail buffet are $25 per person. The 2009 season of Opera Theatre of St. Louis opens Saturday May 23 and runs through June 28 in the Virginia Jackson Browning Theatre in the Loretto-Hilton Center on the campus of Webster University in St. Louis, 130 Edgar Road. The season opens with Puccini’s La Boheme and continues with new productions of Richard Strauss’s Salome, Mozart’s early opera Il Re Pastore, and the premiere of a newly-commissioned, more intimately-scaled performing edition of John Corigliano’s The Ghosts of Versailles.
