Missouri State University's Workshop on Critical Inquiry and the College of Humanities and Public Affairs will host a two-day Colloquium on Philosophy of History.

Day One:
Hayden White
"Is My Life A Story?"

Hayden White (Professor Emeritus, UC Santa Cruz) is widely regarded as one of the most important philosophers of history of the last 50 years. His book Metahistory transformed the field, and his many books and articles since have had a global influence.

Day Two:
Marc Nichanian
"The Sense of History"

Marc Nichanian has taught at many universities and institutions, including College Internationale de Philosophie in Paris, Columbia University in New York, and the American University of Armenia in Yerevan. His many books include The Historiographic Perversion and Mourning Philology. Gil Anidjar is Professor of Religion and Comparative Literature at Columbia University. His books include The Jew, The Arab: A History of the Enemy and Semites: Race, Religion, and Literature. He is the editor of Acts of Religion by Jacques Derrida.
