Event Description

The Southwest Missouri chapter of NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) has issued a call for artists to enter artwork for "Memoirs of the Minds," an art exhibit intended to help fight the stigma of mental illness by sharing a recovery story. There's no fee to register or participate in this exhibit; they'll accept a variety of media including paintings, photographs, sculpture, jewelry, poetry and more. The opening reception will be Friday Oct. 6 from 6:00 to 9:00pm at The Gallery at National Avenue Christian Church, 1515 S. National. The exhibit will also be open to the public Saturday Oct.7, as well as Friday and Saturday Oct. 13 and 14. For details or a registration packet, contact Addie Blankenship at the NAMI offices, 864-7119 or by email: addie@namiswmo.com.
