Now open at the Springfield Art Museum, "The Structured Landscape", a new special watercolor exhibition in Armstrong Gallery now through March 25, 2018. Humans readily identify themselves with man-made structures, which perhaps explains one reason this genre is so popular among artists. A simple landscape becomes more interesting when dwellings or other architectural structures are included as part of the scene. Guest curated by Cindy Quayle, Exhibitions Manager, this exhibition is the sixth in a series, focusing on various artists, styles, and trends pulled exclusively from the Museum's outstanding collection of contemporary American aquamedia. This exhibit features 24 works, 15 of which were purchased from previous Watercolor USA exhibitions, including those as far back as Watercolor USA 1964.
