The Traditional Dance and Music Society of the Ozarks begins 2018 with a NEW LOCATION for their two monthly community contra dances, the first and third Saturdays of the month: the Boys & Girls Club Henderson Unit at Grant Beach Park, 835 W. Calhoun in Springfield. Dances are from 7:30 to 10:30pm, with a pre-dance workshop to teach you the basic steps at 7. Admission is $7 adults, $5 youth and Traditional Dance and Music Society members. Please wear soft soled shoes. Music for the Jan. 6 dance will be provided by Musky Dime: David Scrivner, fiddle; Nathan McAlister, banjo/guitar; Kim Lansford, piano, and dance caller Mike Bolin.
