Event Description

The George A. Spiva Center for the Arts, 222 W. 3rd Street in Joplin, will open a new exhibit in the Main Gallery of contemporary Native American art curated by Executive Director, Josie Mai. 18 Native American artists represent the tribes of the Cherokee, Chickasaw, Chitimacha, Choctaw, Delaware, Eastern Shawnee, Mescalero Apache, Mohawk, Muskogee Creek, Osage, Sac and Fox, Seminole, and Wyandotte. The opening reception for the exhibit is Friday Jan. 5 from 5:30 to 7:30pm; the exhibit runs Jan.6 through March 3.
