Event Description

Artist Mike Buesking

Friends of the Springfield Art Museum (FOSAM) and Studio 55 Fine Arts Guild are cosponsoring a public ArtTalk by Mike Buesking. Buesking will share his journey as a developing artist, as well as show some of his recent drawings and oil paintings.

Buesking has taught at Evangel University since 1991 and is familiar with the sometimes uneasy relationship between Christianity, spirituality, and the visual arts. He said: " How does one deal artistically with spiritual ideas without the work seeming histrionic, trite or cliché?" He will also discuss and answer questions about how he uses scripture for a source of inspiration for his paintings.

This ArtTalk is open to the public and will be held from 6:30 - 7:30 pm in the Community Room at the Springfield Art Museum Community Room, 1111 East Brookside Drive Springfield Missouri.

Seating is limited. To reserve your place call Sandra Letson: 417.496.1838 or email sandragraves@mchsi.com
