Event Description

Bring a snack and learn about fun, interesting day and weekend trips in the Ozarks. This month’s topic is The Footrace That Made U.S. 66 Famous. In 1928, the Route 66 Association staged an international footrace from Los Angeles to Chicago that attracted runners from 24 countries and made news around the world. Susan Croce Kelly, Route 66 historian and managing editor of OzarksWatch Magazine, will talk about that amazing race and stories of how the runners fared as they made their way across the country and put Route 66 on world maps.
