Springfield Little Theatre presents "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" by Tennessee Williams April 26 – May 5 at the Landers Theatre, 311 E. Walnut. In the course of one sultry evening, a prominent Southern dynasty is pushed to the brink as memories and secrets are revealed. The plantation owner, Big Daddy, and his family have gathered to celebrate his 65th birthday while sparing him the news that he’s dying from cancer. The play examines the relationships among family members, particularly between one son, Brick, and Brick’s wife, Maggie the “Cat.” Throughout the course of the play, it becomes clear that the family has long constructed a web of deceit for itself. This Pulitzer Prize winning classic is an emotionally tense drama that sizzles with repressed anger, passion and greed. Chuck Rogers directs this production, opening Friday April 26th and running Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:30pm and Sundays at 2:30 through May 5.
