The Springfield Regional Arts Council will present a special holiday-themed "Free Art Day" Saturday Dec. 8 from 10:00am to noon at The Creamery Arts Center, 411 Sherman Parkway across from Hammons Field. Parents and children of all ages and artistic abilities are welcome for two hours of fun with hands-on art activities. Several activity stations will be available including wrapping paper printmaking, snowflake decorating, and glass ball ornament and holiday bag designing. Every participant can create and take home one item per station, with supplies provided by Arts Council staff and volunteers. The Springfield-Greene County Library will provide storytelling at 10:45am and 11:30am. No registration is required; after Free Art Day, participants can stay downtown and enjoy the Springfield Christmas Parade, starting at 2:00pm at the corner of South Avenue and Elm Street and ending at Jordan Valley Park.
