Joplin Regional Artists Coalition (JRAC) is preparing a busy fall season with two back to back exhibits. Each show will run a month long at different locations. The first exhibit, "Changing Colors", is inspired by the definition of 'color'; to change something by painting. It is also inspired by the approaching seasonal color change. The show runs from October 1 to October 30th and is hosted by the Maple Uncommon Hotel and Gallery, 120 E Maple St, Columbus, Kansas. The location gives JRAC its first opportunity to display artwork by its members outside of Missouri. A reception will be held October 19th, 5-8 pm, and the public is invited. The family friendly show will then move to the Upstairs Gallery of Spiva Center For the Arts, 3rd and Wall in downtown Joplin under the name "ART-PORT-UNITY KNOCKS!", November 1st through the 30th. The title is the wordplay of DJ Bates, JRAC Secretary board member. This show, as all others, is an opportunity for JRAC artist members to participate in what they love to do; show and sell their works of ART, transPORT their minds to a new dimension in UNITY display, while KNOCKing on the doors of success! A reception is open to the public is November 15th, 5:30-7:30pm. "ART-PORT-UNITY KNOCKS!" is sponsored by the Neosho Arts Council. For more information on membership, call Linda Teeter, JRAC President at (417)438-5931.
