For almost 50 years, Giordano Dance Chicago has brought the excitement of American jazz dancing to audiences throughout the United States and around the world. Its mission is to develop and preserve the indigenous American art form of jazz dance, thereby creating an awareness of jazz dance as a true artistic expression of American life. They'll perform at the Juanita K. Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts Friday January 25 at 7:30pm. And coming up in February at the Hall: the Broadway Series presents the national touring company of Leonard Bernstein's "West Side Story", Friday Feb.1st at 8:00pm and Saturday Feb.2nd at 2:00 and 8:00pm. The score, with music by Bernstein and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, is considered to be one of the finest in Broadway history.
